Karen brings more than 35 years of nursing experience across three countries to CBH Medical. For over 25 of those years she has led correctional and behavioral healthcare operations, and she is known for turning around struggling facilities and setting them up for long-term success.
Her experience covers nearly every corner of the field: local jails, statewide Department of Corrections contracts, private prisons, sexually violent predator treatment programs, competency restoration, juvenile facilities, behavioral health and acute care. That range gives her a practical understanding of what each setting demands.
Accreditation and regulatory compliance sit at the heart of her work. Karen has directed accreditation readiness for NCCHC, ACA, ICE, PREA, CARF and The Joint Commission, supported operations and site transitions in more than 37 states, and helped open new facilities. She is equally passionate about developing leaders, and has built training and mentorship programs for Directors of Nursing and Health Services Administrators.
Karen began her career in Europe. She earned her degree in nursing and midwifery from Liverpool John Moores University in the UK and practiced cardiology nursing in Heidelberg, Germany, before bringing her expertise to the United States. She holds the Certified Correctional Health Professional Registered Nurse (CCHP-RN) credential, and above all she is committed to building strong teams and delivering care that meets national standards.
