Mr. Umar's skill set extends to the art of contract negotiation, where he plays a pivotal role in securing agreements with a wide array of stakeholders, including physicians, specialty providers, hospitals, laboratories, diagnostic services, and suppliers. Dr. Bhat is a distinguished alumnus of the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences in Hubli, Karnataka, India, where he earned his medical degree. Dr. Bhat resides in and holds licensure in Virginia. He is renowned for his expertise in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Bhat is associated with esteemed institutions including Retirement Doctors Hospital and Bon Secours Richmond Community Hospital. With a comprehensive skill set, he excels in various areas of medical practice including Correctional Medicine, Addiction Medicine (including Pregnancy), Chronic Pain Management, and Primary Care. He possesses a multitude of licensures and professional certifications, including the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology. Additionally, he holds certification in Critical Care from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Ms. Ferguson has successfully managed and supervised clinical operations and administrative tasks within correctional facilities for over 10 years, ensuring the delivery of healthcare services that meet or exceed the rigorous standards set by the American Correctional Association, National Commission on Correctional Healthcare, Virginia Department of Corrections, and federal and local regulations. Her role includes collaborating on regional and local management strategies, optimizing employee recruitment and retention, and fostering their professional growth to enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare services. She actively contributes to CBH Medical’s continuous quality improvement program, conducting audits, implementing corrective action plans, and ensuring compliance with health care outcome measures, documentation standards, and procedures. Ms. Ferguson effectively handles the communication and oversight of management.

CBHCare® provides a Medical Withdrawal Program for drug and/or alcohol addicted inmates that conforms to NCCHC standards. CBH Mᴇᴅɪᴄᴀʟ uses evidence-based practice by utilization of the Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol (CIWA) and The Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) scales along with medically guided treatment protocols. All inmates are screened during the receiving screening process and evaluated during the health assessment for their use of or dependence on drugs and/or alcohol.
